Corey A. McLaughlin, CPA

Corey A. McLaughlin, CPA, Member, joined the firm in August 1998 after two years with a Maryland based accounting firm. Corey is responsible for providing accounting, auditing, investors' representative, attestation and consulting services to a wide variety of entities including commodity pools, hedge funds, commodity trading advisors,  investment advisors, broker-dealers, introducing brokers, futures commission merchants and other operating entities. Corey is in charge of the firm's Investors' Representative practice which provides consent to principal transactions as required under Section 206(3) of the Investment Advisors Act of 1940.  

Corey is currently the treasurer of the Mid-Atlantic Hedge Fund Association and the Foundation for Managed Derivatives Research.  Corey has written several Hedge Fund Industry articles for industry publications.  Corey also spoke at the Opal Emerging Managers Conference in May 2005 on SEC record keeping regulation and the FRA Hedge Fund Accounting and Administration Forum in July 2006 discussing audit issues related to the Hedge Fund Industry.   In addition, he served as a panel leader for a workshop discussing audit issues related to the Hedge Fund Industry at the FRA Hedge Fund Accounting and Administration Forum in December 2006 and July 2007. 

Corey graduated from Towson University in 1996 with a Bachelors of Science, majoring in Accounting.  Corey is a certified public accountant.   He is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
