Tim Chesser, CPA, Member, has been with the Firm since 1989. He specializes in tax compliance and research related to individual, estate, and trust work. Tim works with Susan A. McGovern, CPA in managing the firm’s elite individual clientele and providing practical implementation of tax planning strategies. He is heavily involved with financial, estate and asset protection planning, both domestic and international, and works with clients in determining the potential use and proper filing requirements associated with Grantor Trusts, Insurance Trusts, and Split-Interest Trusts (i.e., Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts (GRATs), and Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRTs)).
The scope of Tim’s international tax work includes controlled foreign corporations (CFCs), foreign personal holding companies (FPHCs), and passive foreign investment companies (PFICs). Tim has been a speaker at the Investment Company Institute’s “Globalisation of Mutual Funds” Conference in Bermuda, and has written articles on the tax ramifications associated with U.S. investors in foreign corporations, particularly PFICs.
Tim graduated from Bob Jones University, is certified Virginia, Connecticut, and New York, and is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the Maryland Society of Accountants. |
